targzHi all, is it possible to add http://gnutransfer.com/vps.php to the section "Services offering Devuan"? I am using 2 weeks ago the ASCII version on your VPS and go without problems.03:08
golinuxtargz: That's great!03:11
golinuxI want to pass it by a few folks before making that change.   Give me a day or too.03:12
golinuxLOL!  Two03:13
targzgolinux: Ok. It also has support in Spanish (at least that is important to me and the hispanic community)03:13
golinuxI'm just on your site and missed the language thing.  Always good to be flexible with that barrier.03:16
golinuxYou might want to add Devuan to the image selections here too: http://gnutransfer.com/features.php03:18
golinuxWelcome aboard!03:19
targzgolinux: A while ago I asked if it was possible to have Devuan, at the time I responded that they had other priorities. A few months later I got the surprise of add ASCII :)03:20
golinuxSorry for my confusion . . . I realized that you are a customer.03:22
golinuxThanks for letting us know.03:22
targzgolinux: Yes, just customer.03:22
targzIt is a good news, so that deserves to be shared :)03:24
golinuxI totally agree.03:24
golinuxShouldn't take more than a day or two03:24
targzgolinux: good03:25

filipdevuan_cuz he told me in the past what packages are necessary to configure bumblebee properly for nvidia optimus gpu but he sent me that on private messages and its not publicly archived10:26

filipdevuan_oki :)15:04
filipdevuan_it didnt update kernel but got optirun bash running now oh... thanks again gnar lol15:11
filipdevuan_i had some crash earlier during boot...15:11
filipdevuan_i only wonder why bnet app and diablo 3 doesnt wanna run under optirun....15:12
filipdevuan_in blizzard help they say its graphics drivers r outdated...15:12
gnarfaceoh, you probably have to get the nvidia driver stuff from ascii-backports15:13
gnarfaceyou can get a newer kernel from there too15:13
filipdevuan_i have no idea what that is15:13
filipdevuan_but im gonna search for it15:13
gnarfaceshould be mentioned on the forum somewhere i bet15:14
gnarfacethe process is the same as for debian's backports except you use the devuan sources15:15

MinceRhellion18:02
premobossa weird situation. from PC_A i mut enter into PC_B usin ssh to do some administration. wher i am in PC_B, i must disable keiboard and moyse and touchscreen present onto PC_B to avoid that local user can operate during the time i am into PC_B. I already tryed to explore "xinput" but it says "unable to open DISPLAY:0". so, using only CLI, how can i do? of course i must to be able to reactivate keybooard/mouse/touchscreen on PB_B before i leave it.18:06
Wonkapremoboss: shut down the display manager?18:43
arminhi my name is armin and i'm typing these lines here on an ortholinear planck keyboard!18:46
Anselmo:318:50
premobossWonka, not possible. im sorry i forgot some details: besides ssh, i have to get display control with x11vnc (on pc_B) and x11viewer (on PC_A)19:05
XenguyI'm going to try installing a fresh 64-bit version of Devuan on to a new hard drive.  I would like to use dpkg --get-selections/--set-selections to migrate my current software list over to the new installation...20:03
XenguyThe current installation is 32-bit however, and I notice some references in the --get-selection list contain the string 'i386'...20:03
XenguyIs it still possible to use this method successfully, even if I am moving from 32-bit to 64-bit?20:04
KatolaZXenguy: just replace :i386 with :amd6420:14
KatolaZit should work in general, but there are a few packages that are available only for i38620:14
KatolaZso you need some manual intervention there20:15
XenguyThanks for the tip KatolaZ !20:29
premobossi need to run a script (with root rights) N seconds after PC started up: how to do?21:04
koollmancrontab, @reboot entry with 'sleep' in front of what you want. Why would you want that, though ?21:09
premobosskoollman, I have to black the screen if a event trigger. so i create a script that controll the event: if trigger, black the screen. if untrigger: make the screen visible. the problem is that apparently it can be runned only as root: if i "sudo" it, does not works. so i think a way to solve is to run the script delayed aberer X seconds (i tried to start the script from /etc/rc.local but also in this way i got no succes).21:12
koollmanshouldn't be much difference between sudo and root21:13
premobossyou are right, but if i try to add "sudo /home/user/script.sh" into rc.local, it does not work. if i do "sudo /home/user/script.sh" after all the sustem is up, it works.21:15
premobossso apparently if i run it not later, it does not run.21:15
premobossmaybe have i to ad a "sleep X seconds" bebore sudo into rc.local?21:15
koollmancould help, but unlikely (and it would delay the boot process)21:16
koollmanyou can try it to see if it's a timing thing, before thinking about other workarounds21:16
premobosslet me try, i will be back.21:16
premobossnope21:30
premobossno success wuth sleep21:31
filipdevuan_hey how to download 32 bit nvidia drivers while using 64bit ascii??21:32
koollmanpremoboss: so, sleep is likely not the problem. More probably the script require some environment variable available from shell and not rc.local21:33
premobosskoollman, could be.21:34
premobosskoollman, the core of script is "echo n > /dev/backlight-1wire" (with 0 < n < 127)21:36
premobossthat eco asks root permissions21:36
premobossthat echo asks root permissions21:36
koollmanin rc.local it's already root21:37
koollmanyou could add just /home/user/script.sh in rc.local21:37
koollmancan you paste the entire script somewhere ? (like dpaste.de ?)21:38
filipdevuan_oh damn i get this error when trying to run game under optirun 0009:err:wgl:init_opengl Failed to load libGL: libGL.so.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS6421:38
filipdevuan_0009:err:wgl:init_opengl OpenGL support is disabled.21:38
premobossyes, an that drive me crazy. if i place that script into rc.local, it does not starts. it seems that rc.local acts BEFORE somethin else.21:38
premobosssomething that is necessary to make script run properly.21:38
filipdevuan_hey i have got Fn keys and brightness i can change brightness using fn key and left or right arrow however nothings happening here when i wanna change brighntess any soltions?? :/21:49
