ted-iousIs there a page for installing devuan on a raspberry pi somewhere that's not linked from the home page?00:25
gnarfacearm-files.devuan.org00:36
gnarfacedunno where it may be linked from exactly00:36
xrogaancould somebody verify if devuan backports are properly synced?00:59
xrogaanstable-bpo of linux-signed should be 6.5: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/linux-signed-amd6401:00
xrogaan(as of 2023-11-01)01:00
xrogaanI hope I didn't bork my install01:03
ted-iousgnarface: Thanks I guess that's where the files are but nothing like https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/DIY_Fully_working_Alpine_Linux_for_Allwinner_and_Other_ARM_SOCs01:42
rrqwhich package? is it "linux-image-amd64-signed-template" ?01:42
rrqxrogaan: ^01:43
gnarfaceted-ious: there's a #devuan-arm channel if you need help though01:44
ted-iousAh thanks!01:45
xrogaanrrq: no, it's linux-image-amd6401:46
xrogaanthe template is for that package. The unsigned packages would have the word "unsigned" in them.01:48
rrqhttps://pkginfo.devuan.org/linux-image-amd64  says it's 6.4.4-3~bpo12+1 on daedalus-backports01:48
xrogaanrrq: I know, just wondering if the sync is not broken :)01:48
rrqnot sure; pkginfo.devuan.org updates every 4 hours I think01:49
xrogaanright, and that package should be available since the 1th.01:50
rwp#ha01:52
rwpOops.  Bad window focus.01:53
rrqpkginfo says 6.5.3-1~bpo12+1 for linux-image-amd64-signed-template .. but linux-image-amd64 doesn't provide "signed" ?01:54
xrogaanrrq: sorry for the long lapse of time. By default, the images are signed. The template description:  This package is used to control code signing by the Debian signing service.04:01
xrogaanso, seems to be part of an internal process.04:01
xrogaanthe backport for 6.5.3 is available in debian's repo, but not yet in devuan's. There's a difference mainly because ftpmaster has to approve the linux kernel.04:02
xrogaansometimes, that process takes weeks.04:02
xrogaanbut it just has been approved, ~2 days ago.04:02
xrogaanhttps://ftp-master.debian.org/#new04:04
xrogaanhttp://deb.devuan.org/merged/dists/stable-backports/main/ -->Contents-amd64.gz2023-10-29 02:34 578K04:07
xrogaanhasn't been updated since the 29th of October. Job might have stalled.04:07
rrqyes, linux-image-amd64=6.5.3-1~bpo12+1 in bookworm-backports' Packages file ..04:10
rrqshould have been merged04:11
xrogaanah, let's wait 10 minutes. Package is regenerated every day at ~4:18am04:11
xrogaanor is it the job on the server of the rr I'm hitting?04:19
rrqthe merged Packages file is ok on amprolla; maybe just updated04:22
rrqbut wrong on pkgmaster04:24
rrqit might possibly be something that needs the weekly full merge action (on Sunday)04:25
rrqexcept that it's dated Nov 2 on pkgmaster and Nov 3 on amprolla04:27
onefangAre they the same timezone?04:28
rrqhmm amprolla's mirror of pkgmaster is uptodate04:30
xrogaanonefang: nah, remote was one hour away from me. Properly synced now.05:28
xrogaanrrq: it's now fine on my end.05:28
xrogaanlinux-image-amd64/stable-backports 6.5.3-1~bpo12+1 amd64 [upgradable from: 6.4.4-3~bpo12+1]05:28

onefangAnyone know where the file /etc/console-setup/cached_setup_keyboard.sh comes from?14:10
buZz  -S|--search <pattern>...         Find package(s) owning file(s).14:27
buZzonefang: dpkg -S /etc/console-setup/cached_setup_keyboard.sh14:28
buZzdpkg-query: no path found matching pattern /etc/console-setup/cached_setup_keyboard.sh14:28
buZzgee14:28
DelTomixmaybe generated file - by /bin/setupcon14:28
buZztbf, the cached_ filenames make it feel like its generated14:28
onefangExactly.  apt-file couldn't find it either.14:29
onefangWhich is why I'm asking.14:29
onefangI'm tweaking my install script to do daedalus, but it seems to be missing that and similar files.  So my keyboard isn't the correct keymap, unless I copy those scripts from my existing system.14:32
DelTomixdoes this help any? https://wiki.debian.org/Keyboard14:40
onefangI looked at that before and it didn't help.14:51
DelTomixah - yeah figured just-in-case.  'setupcon --help' text indicates the --save option updates to /etc/console-setup/cached.*14:54
onefangAh the man page didn't mention that.14:54
onefangSOLVED!  It was a timing bug from rearranging parts of my install script.  Now those cached_setup_* scripts get created automatically like they should.15:24
DelTomixah excellent onefang ! cheers!15:30
onefangWhich means my custom keymap now works again.  B-)15:38
onefangAnd half fixed the boot console size issue that had been driving me crazy all day.  lol15:43
Guest84Hi! When I booting in devuan from my usb-stick with Ventoy I seeing this: end kernel panic - not syncing attempted to kill init. What to do with this? help me!17:14
